Workshop

A one-day workshop for music school pupils includes an individual class, a chamber music class, orchestra playing and participation in the final concert. 

The fee also includes lunch at The Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana.

Workshops will be run by Slovenian conservatory and music school teachers.
Workshop duration: 9.00–18.00.

Liza Hawlina

She finished the Ljubljana Secondary School of Music and Ballet under the mentorship of Draga Ažman. She continued her studies at the Ljubljana Academy of Music in the class of Fedja Rupel. During her studies, she received five 1st prizes as a soloist and she also received 1st prize in the category of chamber music groups four times. She expanded her knowledge in seminars held by David Nicholson, Emmanuel Pahud, Robert Aitken, etc. As a soloist, she has been involved with RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Celje String Orchestra, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic and the Chamber Orchestra UNIRIO. She is a member of Trio Slavko Osterc, performing at various festivals (Slovenia, Croatia, France, Germany, Poland, Serbia, USA, Thailand, Brazil). She participated in the recordings of four records for RTV Slovenia. She has been working as a teacher of flute at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet.

 

 

Alenka Goršič Ernst

Alenka Goršič Ernst is a solo flutist in the Maribor Symphony Orchestra, Slovenia. She graduated from the Ljubljana Academy of Music in the class of Boris Čampa. As a student she received the University of Ljubljana Prešeren Award. She was perfecting her skills with prof. Mihael Kofler, Germany, and later completed postgraduate specialization with prof. Fedja Rupel at the Ljubljana Academy of Music. She plays in several chamber orchestras and ensembles, such as Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, Maribor woodwind quintet, Camerata Velanensis, and is a flute teacher at the Music School Fran Korun Koželjski, Velenje.

Pavli Kac

Oboist Pavli Kac graduated from the Ljubljana Academy of Music in the class of prof. Božo Rogelja. He has gained experience in various chamber ensembles, symphony orchestras and wind ensembles. He has attended various seminars held by renowned professors, such as Tavernaro, Porat, Dent, Kontos, Indermuhle, Abuhl, Seung Lee, Diaz Blanco. He works as a teacher of oboe at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet.

Andrej Zupan

Andrej Zupan graduated and finished his post-graduate studies of clarinet at the Ljubljana Academy of Music in the class of his father prof. Alojz Zupan. In 1985 he represented Slovenia at the Eurovision young musicians concert in Madrid given by the best young musicians of Europe. At local international contests he won eight first prizes. In 1995 he was accepted into the »Orchestre de Jeunes de la Mediterranee« in France and toured with it through Europe and Africa.
He is now playing in orchestras, giving numerous recitals and chamber concerts in Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Austria, Italy, England, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany and the USA.  From 1993 to 2004 he performed as the principal clarinettist at the National Opera and Ballet House of Ljubljana. He works as a teacher at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet and as Associate Professor at the Ljubljana Academy of Music. He leads seminars and master courses in clarinet and is a member of juries at international clarinet contests. As a concertante and teacher he has given guest performances at numerous foreign universities (USA, England, Slovakia, Belgium and Italy). As a soloist, a member of chamber ensembles and a conductor he has recorded 21 CDs.

 

Branko Trifković

Clarinettist Branko Trifković graduated in 1991 with honours from the Academy of Music in Sarajevo in the class of prof. Barath Laszlo. During his studies he began playing as a solo clarinettist in the Opera and Ballet orchestra of the National Theatre in Sarajevo, Sarajevo Philharmonic and the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. From 1993 to 2004 he worked as a solo clarinettist in the opera orchestra of the National Theatre in Osijek. He has won many awards at competitions in the former Republic of Yugoslavia. He works as a teacher at the Music School in Sežana and Ajdovščina and is a member of the Slovenian Clarinet Choir.

Jovana Joka

Jovana Joka (1985) took her first saxophone lessons at the Music School Ivan Matetić Ronjgov in Pula in the class of prof. Arduino Malpera, continued her studies at the Ljubljana Academy of Music in the class of prof. Matjaž Drevenšek and then at Conservatoire National de Region de Lyon with prof. J.-D. Michat. She has attended various seminars and masterclasses held by renowned professors, such as Claude Delangle, Eugene Rousseau, Dragan Sremec, Vincent David, Arno Bornkamp, Goran Merčep and others. She has won several first prizes at national competitions in Slovenia and Croatia.
She was awarded the Prešeren Student Award of the Ljubljana Academy of Music for the performance of Glazunov concerto with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and conductor En Shao. She performs with LadieSaxophone Quartet, SOS Saxophone Orchestra, pianist Danijela Horvat, JazzIstra Orchestra and the Istrian group Barbari. She has also collaborated with the Slovenian Police Orchestra and SAF Military Band. She teaches young saxophonists in different workshops such as EMONA workshops, SOS Junior, Szczecinek Summer Saxophone Workshops in Poland, OrkesterkamP Bovec, Saksistra. She has been a teacher of saxophone at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet since 2011.

 

 

 

Matjaž Škoberne

Matjaz Škoberne graduated from the Ljubljana Academy of Music in the class of prof. Matjaž Drevenšek and then attended a course at Lemmeninstittut Leuven with prof. Neadine Bal. As a member of the SOS Saxophone Orchestra and other classical-jazz groups, he has performed in Slovenia and abroad (AS Festival in Bled, 16th International Seminar in Szczecinek, Poland, ClariSax Day at the Scuola di Musica Reggiolo, World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, Bangkok and Ljubljana). He is also a certified teacher of yoga. He teaches saxophone at the Music School in Krško and Sevnica.
